The light at the end of the tunnel burst forth with a blinding flash weeks ago. What? You didn’t notice? That’s probably because you were sufficiently scared off by the “make sure you have a gigabyte of RAM” comment and you pushed the ol’ snooze button on that topic.
Well, rise and shine, sleepyheads! X-Lite build 1103a has been released, and you’ll be happy to know that the memory requirements have been tamed, the audio quality problem does seem to be essentially resolved, and the outbound dropout problem is resolved. I have heard of one instance where outbound audio still dropped out with this build, but I haven’t been able to reproduce it. I’m really quite impressed by the software at this point… kudos to the X-Lite team, and particularly the Mac developers.
So, there you have it. Try it out!
