The concepts aren’t so bad. The implementation seems adequate. The creation and maintenance of a NetInfo domain is, well, truly bizarre.

I’m sure this all goes better if you use Mac OS X Server and the Server Admin tool. However, I’ve managed to create a domain 3 times and still haven’t quite gotten it all right, yet. There are plenty of resources available on the web but none of them seem to actually be complete… and so I’ve been poking around with nidump and niutil to see what I can put together.

I’m making progress but it sure is slow going.
