Thursday was Hanna Day! You’d think these kids would get sick of each other…
All three girls played with Hanna, almost all day. We got there in the late morning, right on schedule I might add, and played for a bit together. A little after noon my dad arrived and we decided to split up; Grandpa Al, Auntie Amy, and the girls all went to McDonald’s to eat, while Michelle and I treated ourselves to lunch at the Great Hunan restaurant. We relaxed for an hour or so there, then took a little shopping trip to Target to get some necessities. Yep, Target is a favorite. The prices are almost always very competitive with Wal*Mart and you leave without the scuzzy feeling of having bowed to the pressures of the almighty dollar and the massive advertising campaign. There’s a lot to be unhappy with Wal*Mart over, even discounting the huge class action lawsuit now pending.
This also marks the day that my brother Todd flew in from Virginia. The last time he visited was almost two and a half years ago when my grandmother died. He’s in about the same financial shape that we are, so I certainly don’t hold it against him, but that’s a long time to be away from family. That’s also a long way away from the rest of us.
We spent an hour or so at Amy’s house after Todd arrived and got a little caught up on current events. It wasn’t nearly long enough, but we all had places to go and people to see. We hope to talk more on Saturday – but that will be a tight schedule!
