The laptop is still freaking out. I’m back to the RAM theory.

This is going to end up being a really long week during which I got not a lot accomplished. Currently I’ve got the disk booted via FireWire to my Cube, and things are mostly okay. Unfortunately, vim (the UNIX vi editor emulator) is missing!

I’m going to swap the original RAM back into the machine next chance I get. For now I’m playing it safe with my data. I’ve got a DVD backup to do on the old PowerBook before I tinker with the new one much more…
